Osun State Governor and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke, has cast his vote in the ongoing 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Shortly after voting, Adeleke said the exercise was progressing smoothly but raised concerns over an alleged plot to disrupt the electoral process in his hometown, Ede.
The governor claimed he had received information about the alleged deployment of a police officer from Port Harcourt, identified as “London,” to Osun State for the purpose of disrupting voting in Ede.
Adeleke urged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Commissioner of Police overseeing the election, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of the exercise, and other security agencies to investigate the allegation and take appropriate action.
“As of now, it is going well. However, I have received information from my people in Osun State that a police officer called London was brought from Port Harcourt to the state to destroy my town, Ede, and disrupt the voting process,” Adeleke said.
He further alleged that the officer was brought into the state by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to carry out what he described as a “hatchet job” and prevent residents from exercising their franchise.
“I am calling on the IGP and all security agencies to watch out for this police officer from Port Harcourt. I understand that the APC brought him to Osun State to carry out a hatchet job and cause disruption in my town, Ede, so that people will not be able to vote,” he added.
The governor also urged security agencies to ensure that the electoral process strictly followed established procedures.
According to Adeleke, he had received information that there were plans to bypass the standard movement of results from polling units to wards and subsequently to local government areas, with the process allegedly being taken directly to a collation centre.
“I also have it on good authority that they do not want to follow the standard process of moving from the polling units to the wards and then to the local government areas. Instead, they want to take the process straight to the collation centre. This is unacceptable,” he said.
Adeleke called on residents of Ede to remain vigilant throughout the election, while expressing confidence in his chances of emerging victorious.
“That is why I am alerting my people to stay alert. I know that, by the special grace of God, I will win this election,” he said.
