The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent governor of Osun State and candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke was declared winner in the early hours of Sunday following the completion of collation of results from the 30 local government areas of the state.
The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, announced the final result after the overnight collation exercise.
According to the figures announced by the returning officer, Adeleke of the Accord Party polled 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who recorded 444,815 votes.
The result places Adeleke ahead of Oyebamiji by 66,252 votes.
The declaration brings the keenly contested Osun governorship election to a conclusion, with attention now expected to shift to the next steps in the electoral process, including the possibility of legal challenges by dissatisfied candidates or parties.
