Students of Osun State have called on the state government to immediately release and pay the approved bursary to eligible beneficiaries across tertiary institutions in the state.

The students, under the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), expressed concern over the continued delay in the disbursement of the bursary, saying the development has subjected many students to financial hardship.
The demand was contained in a memorandum issued by the national headquarters of the students’ body and signed by its Executive President, Comr. Ajibola Lateef Folajimmy.
In the memorandum, the students reportedly gave the state government a 72-hour ultimatum to take action on the delayed bursary payment and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the funds.
The association said the bursary remains an important form of educational support for students, particularly at a time when many families are struggling with the rising cost of education and other living expenses.
According to the students, the continued delay has made it increasingly difficult for some beneficiaries to meet essential academic and personal obligations.
They therefore appealed to the state government to urgently address the situation and prevent further hardship among students across the state.
The students also urged the relevant government authorities to ensure transparency in the disbursement process and make payments to all qualified beneficiaries without further delay.
As the 72-hour ultimatum takes effect, attention is now focused on the response of the Osun State Government and whether the bursary will be released within the period demanded by the students.
This report is based on the memorandum issued by the National Headquarters of the students’ body and signed by its Executive President, Comr. Ajibola Lateef Folajimmy
