Airtel Africa Plc has increased the maximum value of shares it can repurchase under its ongoing share buyback programme from $50 million to $65 million.

The telecommunications giant disclosed the development in a regulatory filing, stating that the increase reflects the company’s decision to expand the scope of its share repurchase programme.
The buyback programme, which commenced in March 2026, is aimed at returning capital to shareholders and improving shareholder value.
Under the programme, Airtel Africa has been purchasing its ordinary shares through the London Stock Exchange and, where applicable, other permitted trading platforms.
The company said the additional $15 million brings the maximum aggregate consideration for the first tranche of the buyback programme to $65 million.
Airtel Africa’s move comes as the company continues to pursue strategies focused on strengthening its financial position and delivering value to investors.
The company’s shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Nigerian Exchange.
