Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, boosted their chances of qualifying for the FIBA Basketball World Cup after defeating Cape Verde 100–84 in a crucial qualifying fixture.

The Nigerian side delivered an impressive offensive performance, maintaining control of the game and finishing with a 16-point victory over the West Africans.
The win provides a major lift to D’Tigers’ qualification campaign after a difficult run in the qualifiers. Nigeria will now look to build on the result in their remaining fixtures as they battle for a place at the World Cup.
The victory also strengthens Nigeria’s position in the qualification race and gives the team renewed confidence ahead of the decisive stages of the campaign.
