The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the recently concluded Osun State Governorship Election, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, for congratulating Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the polls.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Osogbo by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., the council described Oyebamiji’s gesture as a demonstration of sportsmanship and political maturity.

TICC noted that while elections would come and go, Osun State remained the collective heritage of all its citizens.

The council acknowledged that the election was keenly contested, with heightened emotions and, regrettably, the loss of precious lives.

It therefore called on political leaders and stakeholders across party lines to use the post-election period for healing, reconciliation and sober reflection.

According to the council, political differences should not become permanent divisions among people who share a common destiny.

TICC also stated that Governor Adeleke remained open to ideas and suggestions from Oyebamiji and other stakeholders on ways to move Osun State forward.

It emphasised that the development of the state and the wellbeing of its people were collective responsibilities that required the contributions of leaders across political divides.

The council further reminded political actors that there would always be another election and another opportunity to disagree politically, urging them to prioritise the peace and development of Osun State at this time.

“For now, let Osun heal. Let our leaders unite, and let the interest of our people come first,” the statement said.
