Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has alleged that opposition political parties boycotted the recent local government elections in the state because they were afraid of losing at the polls.

The governor made the statement while reacting to the conduct of the local government elections in Bauchi State.
Mohammed alleged that the opposition parties deliberately stayed away from the election after realising that they lacked the political strength to defeat candidates fielded by the ruling party.
He maintained that the election provided residents with an opportunity to exercise their democratic rights and participate in choosing leaders at the grassroots level.
The governor’s comment comes amid ongoing discussions over opposition participation and the competitiveness of local government elections in the state.
