The Labour Party candidate for Ado State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly election, Nathaniel Ojoko Ogaragbo, has declared that the 2027 election will not be business as usual in the constituency.

Ogaragbo made the declaration on Sunday during a consultation with the Labour Party Local Government Executive Committee in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.

He said the party was intensifying mobilisation across the local government ahead of the election, stressing the need for members and supporters to work together to secure victory at the polls.

According to him, the 2027 contest would require greater grassroots engagement and the participation of party members across the wards and polling units.

The meeting was attended by the Ado LGA Chairman of the Labour Party, Josiah Owobi, members of the executive committee and other party stakeholders.

Speaking during the meeting, Owobi pledged the support of the party leadership for Ogaragbo’s candidature and urged members to work towards his victory.

Owobi also reaffirmed the party’s support for Philip Agbese, the member representing Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who is seeking a second term in 2027.

Following the consultation, Owobi led Ogaragbo and other party stakeholders to Ikpomolokpo Community in Ogege Ward, where a new Labour Party unit was inaugurated.

The delegation later visited the residence of the Ogege Ward Chairman, Nicholas Orji, where party members were gathered for activities marking the Jokah New Yam Festival.

The visit forms part of ongoing political mobilisation by the Labour Party in Ado LGA ahead of the 2027 general elections.
