Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, remains politically aligned with the camp he belongs to, insisting that he would give former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other opposition figures “high blood pressure” ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the remarks while speaking on the political developments surrounding the 2027 elections and the growing realignment of political forces across the country.
The FCT Minister, who has remained a prominent figure in the ongoing political realignment, said Adeleke should not be assumed to belong to the opposition camp despite his political association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His comments come amid intensified efforts by opposition leaders and political groups to build a broad coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.
Wike has previously been critical of attempts by some opposition politicians to portray themselves as the only viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on Adeleke’s political position, Wike maintained that the Osun governor “belongs to us,” suggesting that his political future and alliances would not necessarily follow the direction being projected by Atiku and other opposition leaders.
He further said his political activities ahead of 2027 would surprise his opponents, particularly those within the opposition camp.
“I will give them high blood pressure,” Wike was quoted as saying, referring to Atiku and other opposition figures.
The statement is coming against the backdrop of heightened political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 presidential and other elections, with politicians across major parties exploring possible alliances and realignments.
Adeleke’s political position has also attracted attention following his recent victory in the Osun State governorship election and his interactions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other senior political figures.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and a member of the PDP, is one of the five former governors popularly known as the G5 who openly opposed the party’s presidential campaign in the 2023 election.
His continued political activities and relationship with the Tinubu administration have remained a subject of debate within the PDP and the wider opposition.
As preparations for 2027 gather momentum, the comments by Wike are expected to further fuel discussions over the political alliances that could shape the next presidential contest.
