The leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken another turn as the faction led by former Senate President David Mark has approached the Court of Appeal to challenge a Federal High Court judgment affecting its leadership.

The development followed a ruling by the Federal High Court which removed the David Mark-led interim leadership of the party, further deepening the internal dispute over the control of the ADC.
Dissatisfied with the judgment, the Mark-led faction has filed an appeal seeking to overturn the court’s decision. It has also reportedly applied for a stay of execution pending the determination of the appeal.
The legal battle comes amid growing political tensions within the ADC, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum.
The outcome of the appeal is expected to play a significant role in determining the party’s leadership structure and its preparations for the forthcoming elections.
