The African Action Congress (AAC) has formally requested approval from President Bola Tinubu to hold the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.

In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and addressed to the President, the party requested permission to use the Presidential Villa for the inauguration scheduled for November 11, 2026, as part of preparations for the 2027 elections.
The letter, signed by the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpenimoghena, also requested logistical support, including food, drinks, and other provisions for participants at the event.

The AAC said its request was based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties.
According to the letter, the party wants the Presidency to extend similar considerations to it as those reportedly provided to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a comparable political engagement.
The party argued that granting the request would demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to fairness, equal access, and the principle that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.
The proposed inauguration is expected to mark a significant step in the AAC’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, in which the party is associated with its presidential hopeful, Omoyele Sowore.
However, the letter is a request for approval, and there is no indication in the document that the Presidency has granted it.
The AAC said it would appreciate information on the applicable procedures and conditions for approval, while expressing hope for a favourable response from the President.
