The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has dismissed reports alleging that the Kaduna State Government released ₦2.3 trillion to host the party’s rally, describing the claim as false and baseless.

The council’s spokesperson, Dele Alake, stated this in a statement issued on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in which he challenged the figures being circulated online.
Alake said the alleged amount was unrealistic, arguing that it exceeded Kaduna State’s annual budget and the combined budgets of the state for three consecutive years.
“For context, the combined Kaduna State budgets for 2024 (₦458.271 billion), 2025 (₦790.439 billion), and 2026 (₦985.9 billion) are still less than ₦2.3 trillion,” the statement read.
The APC campaign council questioned how a state government could spend ₦2.3 trillion on a political rally, given the size of its annual budget.
It also accused supporters of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of planning to circulate old videos, doctored footage, and deepfakes during the rally to create the impression that residents were opposed to the event.
The council warned Nigerians to be cautious about misleading information and unverified videos circulating on social media.
It further accused Atiku and the ADC of attempting to discredit the APC, although it did not provide evidence in the statement to substantiate its allegations about the alleged plans to circulate manipulated videos.
The APC campaign council urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and reject what it described as attempts to mislead the public.
The statement was issued amid political exchanges between the ruling APC and opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
As of the time of filing this report, no independent evidence had been provided alongside the statement to establish the origin of the ₦2.3 trillion allegation or verify the claim about the alleged circulation of manipulated videos.
