The Osun State Police Command has issued a stern warning against any attempt by individuals or groups to forcibly take over local government areas or occupy local government premises in the state.

The warning comes amid heightened political tensions surrounding the control of local government structures in Osun State, with the matter reportedly still before the courts.
The police cautioned that no individual or group should take the law into their own hands by attempting to seize government facilities or enforce control through force.
The Command stressed the need for all parties involved in the dispute to respect the judicial process and await the outcome of the courts rather than resorting to actions capable of disrupting public order.
The police further warned that any attempt to breach the peace, forcibly occupy public facilities or cause a breakdown of law and order would attract appropriate action in accordance with the law.
The development comes as political stakeholders in Osun continue to closely monitor the legal and political developments surrounding the state’s local government administration.
The police maintained that its priority remains the protection of lives and property and the preservation of peace across the state.
