President Bola Tinubu has asked Nigerians to re-elect him for a second term in office, promising prosperity, continuity, economic recovery, and national development.
Tinubu made the appeal on Saturday during the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign in Kaduna State, where he thanked residents for supporting his emergence as president in the previous election.
Addressing the gathering, the president described Kaduna as a historic centre of Nigeria’s political administration, recalling its significance in the country’s journey to independence.

He also offered prayers for Nigeria’s departed leaders, asking Almighty Allah to grant them forgiveness and eternal peace.
Tinubu said he returned to Kaduna to appreciate the people for their support and seek another mandate to continue his administration’s programmes.
“I am here to seek your mandate for a second term, to keep our promise of prosperity, continuity, progress, and national development,” he said.
The president blamed the opposition for the hunger and poverty currently being experienced by Nigerians, insisting that his administration was working to address the challenges.
“I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, and they created the poverty. We are the ones working to eradicate it,” Tinubu said.
He also praised APC governors for their developmental projects across the country, expressing satisfaction with what he described as progress in the 36 states of the federation.

According to him, the regular payment of salaries and ongoing development initiatives demonstrate the commitment of APC-led governments to improving the lives of Nigerians.
Tinubu further urged eligible voters to ensure they possess their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the next presidential election.
Calling on supporters to turn out in large numbers on January 16, 2027, the president urged them to vote for his re-election and support APC candidates at all levels.
“It is a promise: come January 16, 2027, you must go out massively to re-elect me. APC all the way!” he declared.

He called on voters to support APC candidates contesting for governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and state Houses of Assembly seats.
The president also defended his administration’s economic reforms, declaring that the era of fuel subsidy payments was over and promising to tackle corruption, invoice falsification, and fuel smuggling.
“The fuel subsidy is firmly behind us. No more corruption! No more falsification of invoices! No more lies! No more fuel smuggling!” he said.
Tinubu urged Nigerians not to be swayed by opposition criticism, arguing that his political rivals had little to offer beyond reversing the policies of his administration.
He maintained that his government represented prosperity, consistency, growth, recovery, and opportunity, while assuring supporters that a better future remained possible under his leadership.
The president concluded by thanking APC leaders, governors, and supporters for the massive turnout at the campaign flag-off, urging them to remain committed to the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
