President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sadness over the death of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

In a condolence message, Tinubu described the late Hassan as a lifelong companion who stood beside President Samia through decades of her service to Tanzania.
The Nigerian President said the death was not only a personal loss to President Samia but also a painful moment for her children and the entire Hassan family.
“I know what this loss means to President Samia and her family. She has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and the family one of its pillars,” Tinubu said.
He noted that Hassan had stood quietly beside his wife for almost five decades, describing their relationship as a companionship of great depth.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, and on behalf of my family, I extend my deepest condolences to President Samia, her children, the Hassan family and the people of Tanzania,” Tinubu added.
The President said Nigeria stood in solidarity with Tanzania during the period of mourning, stressing the importance of unity and brotherhood among African nations in moments of grief.
Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the late Hafidh Ameir Hassan eternal rest and give President Samia Suluhu Hassan, her family and the people of Tanzania the strength to bear the painful loss.
