The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, cast his vote at Ward 09, Unit 011, Ikire, in Irewole Local Government Area, at about 10:42am on Saturday.
His arrival at the polling unit was met with cheers from a large crowd of voters who had queued to exercise their franchise.
Speaking with journalists after voting, Oyebamiji expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious at the end of the election.
He also said the election had been peaceful so far, based on reports reaching him from across the state.
“From the reports I have gotten so far, everywhere is peaceful, and we hope it will continue like this.
“I expect that I am going to have the victory at the end of the day,” he said.
Oyebamiji described the situation at his polling unit as peaceful, adding that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security personnel and voters were all present.
“The INEC officials, security agencies and voters are present, and everything is under control,” he said.
