Some members of the Osun State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have rejected the recently released list of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), alleging violations of party guidelines, lack of consultation and exclusion of key stakeholders.

The aggrieved party officials, in a joint statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Wole Adunola; Welfare Officer, Deaconess Adesola Ayangbile; Assistant Organising Secretary, Rasheed Adeniji; and Ex-Officio member, Abiola Ololade, described the composition of the council as unacceptable in its present form.
They expressed concerns over the alleged exclusion of several members of the State Working Committee, insisting that such officials ought to be included in the council in line with the party’s established guidelines.
The officials also questioned the circumstances surrounding the emergence of the new list, recalling that Governor Ademola Adeleke had earlier reportedly been appointed Director-General of the Osun Presidential Campaign Council and had inaugurated a broad-based campaign team.
They consequently demanded clarification on whether the newly released list was meant for the Presidential Campaign Council or the Parliamentary Campaign Council, warning that the lack of clarity could generate confusion and deepen existing disagreements within the party.
The aggrieved chieftains called on the APC leadership to urgently review the composition of the council through proper consultations with relevant stakeholders, including the party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, and the State Director-General.
While reaffirming their commitment to the re-election ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the officials maintained that party loyalty should not prevent members from expressing legitimate concerns over decisions they believe could undermine internal unity.
They further stressed the need for all recognised stakeholders to be accommodated in the campaign structure, noting that inclusiveness, proper coordination and mutual understanding would be essential to achieving the party’s objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
