Hundreds of residents in Osogbo, Osun State, have been thrown into uncertainty following the reported sudden closure of a company accused of collecting payments from customers for food items without fulfilling the expected orders.

The company, located in the Odi-Olowo area of Osogbo, had reportedly attracted a large number of customers in recent months by offering food items, including rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, and semovita, at prices significantly below prevailing market rates.
According to some affected customers, they paid substantial amounts of money to the company in anticipation of receiving food packages and other benefits.
However, tension reportedly heightened on Monday morning when scores of aggrieved customers gathered at the company’s premises to demand explanations and seek the recovery of their funds.
The operators of the business were reportedly unreachable at the time of the protest, raising concerns among customers over the whereabouts of their money and the status of their orders.
Security personnel, including police officers, were reportedly deployed to the area in several trucks to prevent a breakdown of law and order as the affected residents expressed their frustration.
The protesters are calling on relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the company’s closure, establish what happened to the funds reportedly collected from customers, and ensure that affected residents receive appropriate redress.
