The Osun State Police Command has arrested six suspects, including four personnel of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), over the alleged vandalisation of electrical infrastructure in Ikirun.

The suspects were arrested around 6 a.m. on Tuesday following intelligence that a high-tension electricity pole was being cut at Eko-Ende Junction.
Police operatives from the Ikirun Division reportedly stormed the scene and found the suspects cutting the pole with a machine powered by a generating set.
The suspects are believed to be part of a syndicate allegedly responsible for the vandalisation and theft of electricity cables and other infrastructure in Ikirun and neighbouring communities.
Those arrested are Onabamiji Emmanuel, 55; Bolaji Odusanya, 51; Alimi Akeem, 36; Balogun Kehinde, 52; Oyewo Hammed, 31; and Oladosu Hammed, 22.
Police said the first three suspects are IBEDC staff, while Balogun is an IBEDC security personnel. Oyewo and Oladosu are welders.
Items recovered include a cutting machine, generating plant and welding machine allegedly used in the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zungura, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
The suspects will be charged to court after investigations are concluded, the police said.
