The prolonged rift between Nigerian music stars Peter and Paul Okoye, formerly known as the P-Square duo, may have caused lasting damage to their relationship, according to their elder brother, Henry Okoye.
Henry reportedly expressed doubts about the possibility of the estranged twins returning to the close relationship they once shared, despite efforts to resolve their differences.
He made the remarks during an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family’s residence in Plateau State on Friday, while speaking about the latest developments surrounding the family dispute.
According to Henry, Peter has made attempts to settle the disagreement between him and Paul. However, he said the length and intensity of the conflict had made it difficult to remain optimistic about a complete reconciliation between the brothers.
The family elder nevertheless appealed to Paul to consider ending the dispute and making peace with Peter.
Henry reportedly recalled the support Peter gave Paul during a period when Paul was hospitalised, using the experience to emphasise the bond that once existed between the twins.
The latest comments come against the backdrop of years of disagreements that have repeatedly affected the relationship between Peter and Paul and ultimately contributed to the collapse of P-Square as a music duo.
Peter, popularly known as Mr P, and Paul, known professionally as Rudeboy, enjoyed enormous success as P-Square before their relationship deteriorated and the group split. The brothers have since pursued separate solo careers.
The dispute has remained a subject of public interest, particularly because of the twins’ previously close relationship and their status as one of Nigeria’s most successful music acts.
Henry’s appeal adds another voice to calls for reconciliation within the family, although it remains uncertain whether Peter and Paul will eventually resolve their differences and restore their relationship.
