The Ogun State Government has expressed support for the Dangote Deep Seaport project, calling for increased employment opportunities for residents of the state.
The government said the development of the deep seaport would create significant economic opportunities and contribute to the growth of businesses and industries in the state.
It also stressed the need for members of the host communities and other residents of Ogun State to benefit directly from the project through employment, skills development and other economic opportunities.
The government maintained that major investments such as the Dangote Deep Seaport should translate into improved livelihoods for the people, particularly youths seeking employment.
It urged stakeholders involved in the project to prioritise local content and ensure that qualified residents are given opportunities to work and participate in the economic activities generated by the seaport.
The government further noted that collaboration between the public and private sectors would be crucial to maximising the economic benefits of the project for Ogun State and Nigeria.
The Dangote Deep Seaport is expected to boost trade, logistics and industrial activities while creating employment opportunities and attracting further investments to the region.
