The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed all its candidates to remain in Nigeria until after the 2027 general elections.
The party’s state chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, issued the directive during the inauguration of the Tinubu-Hamzat Campaign Council at the APC secretariat in Ikeja.
The council is saddled with coordinating the party’s campaigns for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos governorship candidate Femi Hamzat ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ojelabi urged all candidates to cooperate with the campaign council and remain available for mobilisation activities.
“After today’s inauguration, no candidate is allowed to travel outside the country until after the general elections,” he said.
The chairman also warned party members against underestimating the opposition, urging them to remain committed and work together towards the party’s electoral objectives.
He said the APC would take its campaign to the grassroots, deploying its structures across senatorial districts, local government areas, wards, and polling units.
Ojelabi said the party was targeting five million votes in Lagos, adding that coordinated grassroots mobilisation would be key to achieving the target.
He also called for a peaceful campaign, urging members to shun hatred, thuggery, and violence.
