The Kwara State Government has announced plans to purchase shares in the upcoming Dangote Refinery Initial Public Offering (IPO) for female teachers across the state.

The initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to promote financial inclusion and create opportunities for women in the teaching profession to build long-term financial assets.
The government said the proposed investment would enable beneficiaries to own a stake in one of Nigeria’s major industrial ventures while potentially benefiting from future returns on their investments.
Details of the number of female teachers to benefit, the value of the shares to be purchased, and the implementation framework are expected to be announced by the state government.
The Dangote Refinery, located in Lagos, is one of Africa’s largest oil refineries and has commenced domestic fuel production as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s refining capacity and reduce dependence on imported petroleum products.
