Chelsea Football Club has officially confirmed that affiliates of Clearlake Capital Group will acquire the ownership interests of Todd Boehly and Mark Walter, giving Clearlake full control of the Premier League club.

The club announced the ownership change in an official statement, adding that Hansjörg Wyss will remain an important partner and stakeholder.
The development brings Boehly’s tenure as chairman of Chelsea F.C. to an end.
In his farewell statement, Boehly said:
“It has been an honour to serve as Chairman of Chelsea Football Club.”
He thanked the Premier League, coaches and players, Chelsea’s leadership and staff, as well as the club’s supporters, for their roles in helping to build what he described as a bright future for the club.
Boehly also expressed appreciation for his partnership with Clearlake and the wider ownership group, particularly their collective decisions and investments in the club.
“I am confident that Chelsea is well positioned for continued success under Clearlake’s leadership,” he added.
Clearlake’s acquisition marks a significant shift in Chelsea’s ownership structure, with the investment firm moving from being part of the ownership group to taking full control of the club.
