The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, has visited Osun State Governor, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, with discussions reportedly centred on efforts to secure the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Basiru disclosed this on Saturday after the meeting with Governor Adeleke, saying the visit was also aimed at congratulating the governor on his victory in the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
According to the APC National Secretary, he also used the opportunity to appreciate Adeleke for attending the burial of his late mother.
Basiru said the meeting included discussions on how Osun State could be delivered for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, adding that Governor Adeleke had promised to work towards the outcome.
He stated:
โOn a congratulatory visit to His Excellency, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, on his victory at the polls, and to specially appreciate him for his visit during the burial of my late mother, as well as to discuss how to deliver Osun for Mr. President, as promised by Governor Ademola Adeleke, in the 2027 Presidential Election.โ
The development comes amid heightened political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political parties and key actors already making moves to strengthen their support bases across the country.
Governor Adeleke, who contested the August 15 Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), defeating the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Basiru, a former senator who represented Osun Central, is one of the leading APC figures in the state and has remained active in the partyโs efforts to consolidate its political structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
