The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the August 15 Osun State election, Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola, has denied filing or authorising any petition challenging the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Adedamola’s name had appeared on a petition marked EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, which was displayed at the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo.

However, speaking on the development, Adedamola insisted that neither he nor his legal representatives filed the petition or gave approval for anyone to institute the case on his behalf.

“There’s no petition filed by me or my counsel. So, I don’t know where they manufactured the petition they submitted at the tribunal,” he said.

The PDP candidate said he had not received any communication from his lawyers or the party leadership suggesting that a decision had been taken to challenge Adeleke’s victory.

According to him, there was also no meeting where such a decision was reached.

Adedamola said he had no reason to challenge Adeleke’s victory, noting that he had publicly supported the governor ahead of the August 15 election that he even voted for him.
