The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has reportedly distanced itself from the governorship ambition of Hùnyè, insisting that Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, remains the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The development comes amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 election, with various individuals and groups positioning themselves for the party’s ticket.
The APC maintained that Hùnyè does not represent the position of the party and urged members and supporters to disregard claims suggesting otherwise.
The party’s position further reinforces its support for Adeola, who has been presented as the APC’s preferred candidate for the Ogun governorship race.
The controversy is expected to heighten political activities within the party as the 2027 election approaches, particularly as aspirants and their supporters intensify mobilisation across the state.
