A suspect identified as Sikiru Adedeji has reportedly made fresh revelations to the police over the killing of a man in Ikire, Osun State, allegedly identifying Ayewo as the person who ordered the victim to be brought to them.

According to Adedeji’s statement to investigators, the deceased was allegedly responsible for issuing tickets to petrol sellers around Obada as part of union activities.

Adedeji reportedly told the police that Ayewo, whom he described as the gang leader at their park, instructed them to go and bring the victim.

The suspect also reportedly spoke about a voice note allegedly found on his phone after the incident. He said the message indicated that Ayewo was wanted by the police and that anyone who sighted him should alert him that the “Oga” had ordered them to leave the city and travel as far away as possible.

During questioning, investigators reportedly asked Adedeji to identify the person he referred to as the “Oga.”

The suspect allegedly told the police that the only “Oga” he knew was Senator Lere Oyewumi, claiming that members of the group sometimes visited the senator’s residence.

The claims form part of the suspect’s reported statement to the police and have not, by themselves, established the involvement of Senator Lere Oyewumi in the alleged killing.

The police are expected to verify the allegations, establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and determine the roles of Ayewo, Adedeji and other persons mentioned in the statement as investigations continue.
